My journey to work at home
I have worked from home for over three years now. Even though it has not been easy and some days in the past I have worried about having to go back to the "brick and mortar" jobs. I still consider myself very blessed to be able to work from home. My journey started when we moved to a new house in a new town not far from where I was raised. We met some of our new neighbors. Like normal conversation everyone was asking where we worked. At the time I was working 3rd shift for a well known battery company. Making good money, excellent benefits, you know the phrase. But honestly not happy. I hated kissing my children good night and having to go to work. Most nights my son cried when I left. Anyway, my new neighbor worked from home. Up until this time, I honestly had never meet anyone that actually made money working from home. So as you can guess I was all "ears". She went on to tell me the company that she worked for. She explained the job and the pay. I remember being absolutely stunned. I had never in my wildest dreams thought that I could honestly do that. She told me about a wonderful website for work at home moms. www.wahm.com. I talked to my husband about wanting to try to find a job. Of course starting out part time in addition to my "outside" job. I researched so many companies and educated myself what was a real job and what were scams. Three years later I am working full time from home and loving it. Now I will say it has not been easy and I have hit some brick walls along the way but would I go back and change it? No way.

Wow.That's awesome. I've been researching for years to find a legitimate home based job. I live in Columbia,SC.I found a few including workathome agents, alpine and 1-800 flowers and etc but something that envolves constant phone work wont work for me. Do you have any suggestions on work that requires less phone work. I homeschool (5&6 yrold)during the morning and have a 18 month old. Do you know of a potential position that could be done at any time of the day like work via email and computer and liitle or no phone work? Thanks for any information. I hope working from home continues to work for you.
ReplyDeleteHi, thanks for being the first to comment on my blog. Do you ever go to the website www.wahm.com and www.workplacelikehome.com both are great websites and someone is always posting job leads. Non phone work is so hard to find. That is not to say there aren't jobs out there. I would suggest searching craigslist and joining the two message boards that I mentioned above. You might also be interested in blogging. I am new at it but I have several friends that make money doing that. Always remember do not pay for a job. That always is a red flag for a scam. Let me know if you have other questions.
